Quartz

Quartz is used to improve the mechanical and thermal resistance of the pieces. It is added to ceramic pastes to reduce shrinkage during firing and minimize the risk of deformations or cracks. In glazes, it acts as a secondary flux, contributing to the hardness and shine of the finish. Its presence in ceramic formulations also influences the translucency and durability of the pieces.
